Matthews Hollywood Baby Junior Triple Riser Reviews
Perfect Rolling Stand
By Jonathan
Rated 5 out of 5

Solid construction, rolls smoothly, locking wheels, and Matthews reliability. This stand is perfect for heavier photo lights and keeping the center of gravity lower than on an aluminum stand. I also use it with boom arms. No complaints. I own 2.
Rock solid - will last a career.

I can't imagine a better built light stand. I wish it was perhaps a little bit lighter, but its heavy weight also helps make it stable. It's not for every scenario, but its perfect for its intended purpose.

Can a boom arm be safely added to this stand? If so, which is recommended?
The Avenger D600 holds 15lbs. You could also use a Matthews Mini Boom arm but it will cost a lot more. The quality on both are excellent. Remember to use a counterweight on the arm to balance the weight on the end of the boom arm and also use sandbags on stand base/legs.

question
Do the wheels on this stand lock?
Yes, the wheels lock. In fact, locking the wheels also locks the rotation of the caster, so it doesn't even shift from the connection of the caster to the leg.
