Core SWX Quantum Overview

Featuring four independent charge bays, the Core SWX Fleet Q4Ai Gold Mount Charger with Voltbridge Wireless Management is capable of charging four batteries simultaneously by focusing on each individually. Four 98Wh batteries can be charged in approximately 2.5 hours. Supporting 90 to 240 VAC input voltage, the Fleet Q4Ai is worldwide compatible if you incorporate the appropriate plug adapter, sold separately.

The Q4Ai includes Voltbridge wireless Bluetooth management that allows you to view battery health and performance. By using the free iOS or Android app, you can also enable SafeFly mode which allows you to prepare your battery packs for air travel by charging or discharging them to 30% or below. The charger can also be used as a direct power source in Hypercine mode using installed battery packs and the 90W 4-pin XLR port to power your equipment directly with 12 to 16.8 VDC output. There is also a micro-USB port on the back which allows you to manage the unit from a computer.

Weighing five pounds and measuring less than four inches thick, the Fleet Q4Ai is relatively lightweight and slim for a four-battery charger. The housing is made of aluminum, providing for a robust build.

Fast & functional charger but missing the display

Good charger, reasonably fast, but not having a display is definitely a giveback. There is a pricier version with a display so choose if it's worth the extra to have that info on the unit. They make up for this with the app, but not exactly convenient to pair to the unit and get detailed info on a fast-moving set. The app also feels like it's a still beta; sometimes it hangs between pages and a few things seem not to work at all. Would've given 4 stars if the app was better. Still recommended at the price point.

Don't get pulled in by the color touch screen and battery info display features. I pre-ordered two of these from Core last year when they were on-sale and I started replacing some of my aging A/B chargers. One of them was DOA and had to be swapped out(which Core did immediately). Then when I actually started using them, they didn't work on six of my eight Core batteries that are dedicated to camera use- 6x HC Prime 190's and 2x large capacity Hyper Core bricks. Core has tried to focus the blame on the age of the 190's, but the other Hyper Core bricks are older and charge, and the 190's charge without any issues on all of my existing Anton Bauer chargers(the oldest being almost 23 years old) and my Core Fleet Micro. The 190's also have zero performance issues on equipment, with some of them only having 50-75 cycles. And it will not show the battery health of the 190's or Hyper Core bricks. You can see serial number and charge cycles, but not the health, which is one of the selling features. But I'd just be happy if it charged them properly. It's never a good feeling to walk in to your office to grab batteries off of a charger after being on all night only to look down and see that they have less charge than when you put them on. Funny enough, though, I have a few old A/B batteries left in my fleet and it will show their health if you put them on. It's just very frustrating, because I really like the HC 190's and Core as a company, but it just doesn't make much sense to me that a companies own chargers don't play well with their own batteries. I'm debating asking Core to swap them out for their Fleet or Fleet Micro chargers or just selling them and going back to A/B chargers, which are usually bullet proof and charge much faster. They only charge 25% of my camera batteries so it should only get 1.25 stars, but I'll be generous and round up to 2. If only they charged all of my batteries like a battery charger should, it'd be 4 stars.

No, the Core SWX FLEET Quantum 4-Position Charger with Touchscreen Color LCD (Gold Mount) is rated to charge 15V batteries. 26V not only won't charge, but could risk damaging the batteries or the charger.
