A timeless piece of kit

Very well constructed and will likely outlast the LED fixtures it was designed to augment. Hopefully Aputure continues to make fixtures that support the spotlight mount.

Build quality is questionable

This is a great light - so much faster than using a leko - especially a jo-leko. However, the build quality leaves much to be fixed. The yoke broke on two of mine. The degree indicator on the side broke as well. Even the case handle broke. I wish they do a mark ii of this mount.

Heavy, but perfect.

Having a spotlight has been a big plus in production, and the build quality for the Aputure is stellar.

I love this attachment. It can be used for so many things. I truly wonder what the heck I did without it. Not only does it allow you to cut the light however you want it, but it amplifies the power of the already impressive 300 to even more output.

Are they going to make a wider lens for this so that you can actually use it on location, in a house or apartment. At the moment you need about 35 feet of clearance to be able to use the gobo projector on flood, to cover a scene! Is it even usable at that distance for flood, covering a scene, given the power drop off at that distance with a 300D. Would it need an even more powerful LED like the Nanlite Forza 500 watt ?
Asked by: Mark
Aputure makes a wider 36 degree version https://bhpho.to/2Xn4I1u. The units effectiveness at distance can be affected by many factors, camera settings, ambient light.

Can this be used with a AD600pro and/or AD200(bare bulb)?
Asked by: Anurag
It works with the Godox AD300pro and the S2 bracket. It works with this combination because you can adjust the light back in the bracket until it sits properly up against the rear element of the spotlight. Granted its not optically optimised for strobes, the 300pro is really the best option. All the other lamps extend too far out from the lights bowen's mount thus it is not possible to even physically mount those lights onto the spotlight unless you can Macgyver (diy) a spacer mount which is male to female bowens mount. Unfortunately such a spacer mount does not exist. This is required to set the lamp far back enough to mount.
