The spotlight attachment's design incorporates a dual drop-in slot, which can accept the included B-size gobo holder, included gel holder, or an optional adjustable iris for further control over the shape and size of the light beam. Like a conventional ellipsoidal light, the included 36° lens can be easily swapped to achieve a different beam angle and enables hard cuts with minimal chromatic fringing. The Spotlight Mount has a durable aluminum alloy housing, and this kit is delivered in a hard travel case to protect the housing, lens, and accessories during transport.

Aputure Spotlight Mount Set 36° Lens Reviews
Does exactly what I wanted it to do!

Gripes first. I wish the yokes on Aputure lights were removable so that you didn't have to deal with them when attaching say a 600D to the back of this. It would be nice if the barrel adjustment were geared. And the final small gripe is the sticker for the degrees of the lens fell off as soon as I opened it. The rest of the build is solid so it's weird they cheaped out on the sticker.
You are able to get a sharp circle with little to no chromatic aboration, great clean cuts. GoBos look good. The most fun I've had with lighting in a while. Kicking myself for waiting this long to get one.

This is a great light! The lens project’s beautiful sharp edges with
Almost no chromatic aberration . Nice hard sided case and very reasonably priced in my opinion.

Is this cordless or have to be plugged up? I do a lot of outside creative work
Asked by: Rey
Yes, technically, it is cordless, but this is not a light. It is a light modifier meant to shape a Bowen’s mount light like the Aputure 120D.

Lighting newbie here, why would you pick this over the aputure fresnel? (since the fresnel seems to be able to do the same thing)
Asked by: Byron
No, the fresnel is adjustable from "spot" to "flood" and is focusing the light to some degree. And as Joseph said it produces a soft light comparatively.
The Aputure Spotlight Mount will give you a super focused, crisp hard light good for projecting patterns from Gobos. Think of the spotlight on live stage performers as well.
