A 9-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Venus Optics Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro... Reviews
Good Looking Disappointment.
Wanna Get This Out Of The Way Right Away. Yes, It Produces Great Images (for The Price!), And The Build Quality Is Also Quite Good (for The Price!). But The Good Ends There. Ergonomics Are Far From Great, With The 2x Magnification It Is Almost Impossible To Get A Great Focus Without A Precision Tripod Head. Focus Ring Is Very, Very Sensitive, It's Very Easy To Lose Focus. I Have An A7rv, And The Focus Magnification Or The Focus Stacking DOES NOT Works With This Lens. Will Sell This One, Already Bought The New Sony 100mm That Unfortunately Is More Than 3x The Price Of The Venus. It Should Be Good Only For Very Specific Purposes. Subject Needs To Be Static, Must Use A Precise Focus Tripod Head. Focus Stacking Will Be Manual.
Slide digitizing
I bought this lens primarily due to its 2x macro, and used it to digitize old 110 format slides. The results were sharp and overall I like the quality feel of the lens. For me it was a good value.
