ANDYCINE A7 Overview

Accurately view your frame with the A7 7" 4K HDMI & 3G-SDI On-Camera Monitor from ANDYCINE. This compact and lightweight monitor features a 7" 1920 x 1200 display, up to 323 ppi density, and a removable L-Series battery plate. Both 3G-SDI and 4K HDMI inputs and outputs are provided, enabling you to loop-out your video feed to a separate monitor for director or client viewing.

This IPS panel's 160° wide-viewing angle enables an operator to have a clear, easy-to-see image even as their position shifts and it features a brightness of 450 cd/m2 with a contrast ratio of 1200:1. Input resolutions up to DCI 4K 60p are supported via HDMI and up to 1080p60 via the SDI input.

The A7 monitor also features pro display tools like focus peaking, zoom, anamorphic mode, frame markers, and image flip. The monitor includes a 30" BNC cable, mini arm, sunshade, power adapter, and a carrying bag. Software upgrade on this monitor is done via its USB port.

Size is great.  HDMI cuts out and refuses to come back

Love the size, image is good, although took quite a bit of calibrating. BIG issue: when I change formats, the HDMI cuts off and back on, and sometimes won't come back on for a very long time. Embarrassing to happen right in front of a client. Built quality: not great. Plastic is flimsy and feels like the monitor may snap in half when I use my smallrig swivel mount. Massive downgrade in build quality from the A6 plus that I had before.

can you feed the signal from camcorder to this monitor in sdi and then get the output via hdmi out for live streaming ?

Yes, you can input from either SDI or HDMI and loop out with the opposite respective output HDMI or SDI for streaming purposes on the ANDYCINE A7 7" 4K HDMI & 3G-SDI Input/Output 1920x1200 On-Camera Monitor.

Does it power completely off when the power ...

Does it power completely off when the power button is pressed while on battery?

If the power button is pressed on the ANDYCINE A7 it will draw power when the light is on. Removing the battery would eliminate this issue. Power does not completely shut down when a battery is attached.

If you display the histogram on the monitor does that overlay appear on the loop through signal as well?

On the Andycine A7- 4K HDMI & 3G-SDI Input/Output 1920x1200 On-Camera Monitor, as with other similar monitors, the HDMI loop through is a bypass signal, carrying over the image from the input. It will not carry over displays from the monitor.

No, the ANDYCINE A7 7" 4K HDMI & 3G-SDI Input/Output 1920×1200 On-Camera Monitor would not allow recording using a USB-C SSD. A monitor that supports 4k recording and USB-C drives for recording would be: Blackmagic Design Video Assist 7" 12G-SDI/HDMI HDR Recording Monitor BH #BLVIDA127HRD
