ASUS ESC4000 G4 Overview

Built to support two 2nd Gen Intel Xeon scalable processors, the ASUS ESC4000 G4 Accelerator Server packs high performance into 2 RU of server space.

Customize this accelerator server with up to two 2nd generation Intel Xeon processors, 16 DDR4-2933 memory DIMMs, eight hot-swappable 3.5" SATA III / SAS-3 drives, and one M.2 drive to fit your needs and grow as your business does. Support for 1+1 redundant 1600W PSUs adds peace of mind. Flexible PCIe 3.0 slots allow you to find the ideal expansion configuration. The toolless chassis design provides easy access for part upgrades and replacements. Dual front-facing USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB-A 2.0 ports allow you to quickly connect compatible peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and flash drives. The rear panel includes two 5 Gb/s compatible USB-A 3.1 ports alongside a VGA display connector and two Gigabit-speed Ethernet LAN ports.

Intel Xeon Scalable Platform
The Intel platform delivers a 1.33X average performance improvement in power consumption and clock speed over previous-generation processors with popular applications and benchmarks. ESC4000 G4 also offers breakthrough performance with Intel Optane DC persistent memory support, which provides an over 88% gain in input/output operations per second (IOPS) compared with the same configuration in SSD. Intel Deep Learning Boost technology enhances deep learning capabilities to achieve a 3.1X performance improvement in the ResNet-50 and SSD VGG-16 models.
Flexible & Versatile Accelerator
The ESC4000 G4 supports up to four double-deck server GPUs in a 2U form factor. GPU support includes NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel.
Flexible 8+3 Expansion
ESC4000 G4 offers eight full-length PCI Express 3.0 x16 (4 at x16 Link or 8 at x8 Link), one low-profile PCI Express 3.0 x4 with support of a riser card for additional one PCI Express x16 (x16 Gen3 Link) and one PCI Express x8. One PCI Express x8 for internal HBA/RAID card. Flexible expandability in a 2U form factor supports diverse storage and networking applications to meet the demands of future expansion and high scalability.
User-Friendly design for Easy Server Maintenance
ESC4000 G4 features numerous user-friendly design features that simplify server maintenance. The server's Q-code is visible from the outside of the case to make diagnosing issues easier and more convenient. A tool-less chassis design is included for easy server installation and removal, and a tool-less, hot-swappable fan provides faster and simpler maintenance.
Expandable Storage
ESC4000 G4 features full-bandwidth port-to-port OCuLink for two NVMe storage devices with 3X faster transfer speeds compared to PCIe switch IC solutions. One M.2 slot accommodates 2280-size SSDs with support for additional OS storage and PCIe 3.0 x4 bandwidth for faster boot speeds.
Fully Integrated Remote Server Management
An ASMB9-iKVM module enables remote BIOS updates, standalone KVM/Java utilities, video recording, and BSOD capture. With out-of-band management, ASMB9-iKVM provides around-the-clock remote monitoring and diagnostics, even if the server operating system is down or offline through a user-friendly, web-based graphical interface that works with all major browsers. ASUS Control Center (ACC) is a centralized and integrated IT management platform for monitoring and controlling ASUS commercial products, including servers, workstations and digital signage. ACC enables easier server management with functions such as BIOS updating without restarting the system, remote monitoring of multiple systems via mobile devices, and one-click software updates and dispatching.
Smart Thermal Design
The ESC4000 G4 features a smart thermal radar design with more ambient thermal sensors for the CPU, memory, GPU, SSD, LAN card, and front-panel board that provide improved temperature monitoring and enable dynamic fan speed adjustment for better power efficiency. This smart thermal design reduces fan power consumption by up to 20% and eliminates the power-sharing board for improved efficiency and lower operation costs.
