The aluminum Top Lock Travel Quick Release Adapter from Manfrotto is a quick release system that can either be added to a ball head that does not have a quick release or used to replace an existing quick release with an Arca-type-compatible clamp. This adapter is compatible with the range of Befree tripod kits as well as 490, 494, 496, and 498 ball heads, including the MH490-BH, MH494-BHUS, MH496-BHUS, 494RC2, 496RC2, and 498RC2 models. The compact design of the clamp allows Befree tripod legs to fold inward seamlessly against the clamp without disturbance, and the screw knob locking mechanism firmly keeps the plate in place. Manfrotto recommends that you remove safety stops on the plate that will be in use so it lays flat inside the assembly. The bull's-eye bubble level located to the side of the clamp ensures your horizons are straight.

Manfrotto MSQ6T Reviews
Great product for Arca-Swiss Conversion
Works perfectly on my BeFree tripod. Easy install and fits great.
perfect solution
I have an extension plate on my camera that has an area-swiss rail already cut into it. I was able to convert my tripod to this and now when I'm on the go I don't need to also have the manfrotto RC2 plate on my camera as well.
Inaccurate Bubble Level
Upon the initial installation on my BeFree tripod, it was discovered that the bubble-level is extremely inaccurate, which was disappointing. I've yet to use this product in the field and will revisit this review in the future.
Secure/safe clamping mechanism
I just started using this clamp instead of the RC2 type clamp that came with my Manfrotto Befree GT XPRO. Pros: More secure feel/operation - using it gives me more piece of mind that I'm not going to dump my expensive camera on the ground. Tightening the screw by hand gives you a better feeling that your camera isn't going anywhere. I feel the arca-swiss type clamp is easier to position the camera plate in correctly. I almost dumped my camera on the ground several times when using the RC2 clamp because the front of the camera plate wasn't sitting right even though it appeared it was properly seated. Cons: takes a little more time/effort to mount camera.
Simple and Arca-compatible
Easy to switch out on the Manfrotto Befree GT to make it Arca-compatible - I wish I didn't have to buy a separate piece for the ball head, but it is what it is. Now I don't have to keep switching out my Peak Design plate when I'm shooting in studio.
Great Manfrotto option for Arca Swiss Mount
This Arca Swiss mount fit my Manfrotto Tripod/ball-head perfectly. The quality is perfect--just what you would expect from Manfrotto. Works great with my L-bracket. I thought the knob would be metal, but it's plastic. Not a deal breaker. Easy to swap with the original Manfrotto quick release.
Easy to install
It's a nice upgrade to an existing Manfrotto ball head to make it Arca Swiss compatible. I also ordered an L bracket from 3 Legged Thing to put in it. They work perfectly together.
A great quick release plate
I am invested in the Peak Design Capture system. And this allows me to use the Capture plates with my Manfrotto BeFree Travel tripod. It is a very simple and smooth quick release plate with my system. The small bubble level on top allows me to quickly level the camera. I would recommend Manfrotto products to all of my friends.
