With a single extruder and a built-in self-leveling print bed, you'll be able to print your first 3D model via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or USB. The enclosed print area supports a build volume of 10 x 6 x 6.7". With a 50-300-micron layer resolution, the 3D45 can print using 1.75mm filaments of nylon, ECO-ABS, or PLA. The filament recognition system automatically changes the temperature to match the material. If your 3D print will take a long time, you can monitor and capture time-lapse videos of it using the built-in HD camera. The printer comes with a built-in LCD screen. There is even an active carbon filter that helps reduce exposure to potentially harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Dremel 3D 3D45 Reviews

Excellent But Dated

I Have Been Using The 3D45 For Over A Year. I Found It Easy To Setup And I Appreciated The Large LCD And Very Well Thought Out Menus. The Slicer Program That Comes With The Dremel I Also Found Easy To Use. Print Quality Has Been Good. Recently I Got The New Build Plate Dremel Came Out With, And It Was Super Easy To Install And It Speeded My Work Experience Up Quite A Bit Not Dealing With Glue Sticks Anymore Like The Glass Plate Needed. I Was Partially Attracted To This Printer Because Everyone That Rated It Here Gave It 5 Stars. And I Would Say I Also Have Had A 5 Star Experience. But This Printer Came Out Many Years Ago And Now It Is 2025 Now. Recently I Had A Print Job Taking 5 Hours That Would Be Fitting In With Other Parts I Was Making, And I Realized I Was Going To Need Another Printer If I Was Going To Complete My Projects In A Timely Manner. So I Got A New Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro And The Same Part Printed In 45 Minutes And Print Quality Was About The Same. And The 5M Pro Cost Only About 25% As Much As A New 3D45. I Got To Looking Around And Learned There Are Lots Of Printers Out Now That Are Similar. Even Though The 5M Pro Prints Faster, It Shakes The Same Table A Lot Less Than The 3D45. With The 3D45 I Had To Put About Thirty Pounds Of Weights On The Table To Cut Down The Vibrations I Could See Were Shaking The Table, Even Though Print Quality Seemed Not To Be Affected By The Shaking. But With The 5M Pro, There Was No Shaking Of The Table Even Without Me Putting Extra Weights On It. Something I Really Like About The Dremel 3D45 Is The Filament Spool Is Contained In The Box, So When I Am Not Printing, I Put A Bowl Of Rechargeable Alumina Dessicant In There Along With A Cheap Humidity Sensor And I Can Check The Filament Is Being Kept Dry So It Prints Well. The 5M Pro Is Not As Nice Since The Filament Spool Is External To The Build Area, But When I Am Not Using The 5M Pro I Just Put The Spool In A Plastic Bag (still Leaving The Filament Loaded Into The Extruder) Along With Some Dessicant Along With A Humidity Sensor And That Works Just A Well As My 3D45 Setup.

Love This Printer

I'm a STEM teacher that just started at a school with a new 3D printer. I don't have a lot of experience with 3D printing, so I was a little intimidated at first. Setting up the printer was very simple and straightforward. I started with the preset builds on the LCD screen and moved on to different designs I've found online. I had an issue with the drag and drop files feature on the print cloud, but easily worked through the solution with tech support (who was very friendly and helpful). I'm consistently impressed with the level of detail and accuracy in the performance of this model. Now I just keep surprising myself with all the ways I can infuse 3D printing into my curriculum. I've been so excited about it that my partner wants us to get one for our apartment. Very happy that my school went with this model and would recommend to both beginners and more advanced 3D printing enthusiasts.

We only have Dremel 3D 1.75mm Nylon Filament (Deep Black) DRDF45NYP for the Dremel 3D Digilab 3D45-EDU Printer for Education, this machine requires a specific filament size as well as the specific spool because it is housed within the printer itself.

The "Key Features" section says 50-300-Micron layer resolution, whereas the SPECS say simply 300 micron. Is 50 micron resolution possible, and how does that work?
Asked by: Gerald
The layer resolution is adjustable from 50-300 microns.
