Is this strictly 4x5, or could it handle the 3.25x4.25 format? (And if not, any recommendations for what the best solution is for that size?)
This will only work with 4x5 film.

Does this have light leaks? Customer image has a clamp
Hello. No...it's light tight. On one side where you pour in the chemicals there are two thin plastic slides which are light baffles. They let the water through but not the light from the pour hole. I have been using it for a couple weeks, and it's great. In particular it's friendly on chemicals, only 16 oz for 4 sheets. Also (per the instructions) after you pour in the chemicals, you squeeze the sides slightly then tighten the screw lids, then release the squeeze. Air pressure creates a solid seal for the main flat lid. Very clever. Finally, it's easy to load. Just like your film holder for the camera.

Does the Stearman Press work for direct positive paper?
Probably not. It is just a developing tank and the holders are for 4x5 film--one sheet per side. Having said that, in terms of a tank that is light tight it could develop anything, but probably just one sheet of a substrate at a time without the film holders.
