The 800D-RGB LED Studio Video Light from GVM is a versatile 10.6 x 10.3 x 2" light source with two color modes, light intensity control, and power options. The panel has a 120° beam angle that can be controlled by swinging one or more of the barndoor leaves into the beam path for selective lighting. There are two color modes and the fixture dedicates 168 LEDs to CCT color from 3200 to 5600K. It also has 84 RGB LEDs that allow a choice of 360 colors whose saturation and hue can be tweaked to create a myriad of custom colors. Light intensity is variable from 0 to 100% to match the ambient level or serve as an adjustable key light. You can make these adjustments locally on the light or wirelessly from your phone with a free app for iOS or Android. The light is powered by the included AC adapter, but it also runs on user supplied NP-F-type batteries when mains current is unavailable.

I got this kit for a high school course I teach. They work well My only problem with them is that it's very difficult to tilt the light down because the barn door on the bottom hits the railing.

Upside: quite light and portable. Gets the job done. It's bright, but don't expect it to be your main light source. Downside: build quality is as cheap as its price. Color temperature is not accurate when using it as Bi Color. You can tell the light has a slight green tint to it. All in all, I wish I had invested a bit more to get a descent RGB LED panel.

I returned one set because it smelled like a smoky bar. The second set arrived the same way. So be aware that right out of the box, you might notice a strong chemical smell. The lights are OK. They have some nice features. The shadows are harsh and blocky even with the included diffusers. I ended up buying a soft box for one and an umbrella for the other to keep my background lighting soft. Besides needing better diffusing out of the box to make up for the gaps between the LEDs, they are decent lights. The app is handy for saving scenes, but I can only control one light at a time using Bluetooth. Not a big deal for me. Just an FYI. I was looking for an entry level set of lights to help shape my background lighting and these lights work fine for that. I just had to invest in some additions.

If you want quality lighting on a budget, GVM is your new best friend! The Rgb 800-D package works wonders- you can set your temperature color, you can adjust the intensity, you can pair lights to act accordingly with each other, you can adjust the lighting color with a push of a button on the back, and finally the gvm app gives you even more control and options to make more unique lighting scenarios. I have been using them on all of my projects and they have really upped my production quality across the board!

I brought this light to enhance the brightness of the area for video. It was a disappointing situation when I first put it to use. I did not open it early enough for me to be able to return it. I am not happy.

Pros: the price, lightweight, color capabilities, and ease of use Cons: a little unsteady (to be expected with lightweight), app is awful (on Android). I purchased umbrellas and battery packs also.

Yes you can go from daylight to tungsten, nice thing is it doesn’t go slightly green on the tungsten end which other lights I’ve seen does.

Maximum watts consumed, 40W. GVM does not provide photometric data, nor do they suggest an output ratio for judging tungsten equivalence. A rough ratio of 5 to 1 is usually a good estimate but multiple factors will come into play. This light has a wide beam angle , so you lose power there. As an rgb unit 2/3 of the leds are dedicated to white light production varying from 3200 to 5600k. So only 2/3 of the 40w goes to white light production and maximum white light will be at the midpoint of 4400k. There will be less luminence as you move toward 3200k and 5600k. You can see a single answer is impossible. A fair estimate would probably be somewhere between 100 and 150 watts of tungsten equivalent.

Can you mount the Diffuser at same time than Doors? If Yes, can you keep the Diffuser while closing the doors to protect the LEDs, or you have to unmount the Diffuser to close doors? Thank you!!

The diffusion that comes with the GVM 800D RBG LED can be used in conjunction with the barndoors. It can be left in place when stored or transported.
