The 800D-RGB LED Studio Video Light from GVM is a versatile 10.6 x 10.3 x 2" light source with two color modes, light intensity control, and power options. The panel has a 120° beam angle that can be controlled by swinging one or more of the barndoor leaves into the beam path for selective lighting. There are two color modes and the fixture dedicates 168 LEDs to CCT color from 3200 to 5600K. It also has 84 RGB LEDs that allow a choice of 360 colors whose saturation and hue can be tweaked to create a myriad of custom colors. Light intensity is variable from 0 to 100% to match the ambient level or serve as an adjustable key light. You can make these adjustments locally on the light or wirelessly from your phone with a free app for iOS or Android. The light is powered by the included AC adapter, but it also runs on user supplied NP-F-type batteries when mains current is unavailable.

8 Customizable Lighting Effects ARE NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!

I very much like the light kit, EXCEPT... I am very disappointed in the portrayal of this product as advertised. Everything works well EXCEPT... to use the 8 Customizable Lighting Effects (lightning, police car, candle, bad bulb, disco, paparazzi and party) you have to use an app.
Before downloading the app I went to the Google Play Store and read the reviews for the app, and found that it had a rating of 1.7 out of 5.0. That set off a RED flag!!! People talked about the app often malfunctioning... losing connection with the lights, slow to connect, permanently locking a light on a wrong setting, some couldn't connect to their lights anymore, logins that don't work, comes with unavoidable advertisements, continues to run in the background even after it is turned off, draining the phone battery and several other complaints.
One person wrote "Huge security issue. App is asking for all permission of my phone; location, calls, images, etc. Very, very sketchy. You also need an account just to open it and just entering my email account, the app switched itself to Chinese and since I can't obviously speak Chinese (shouldn't need to learn a new language to operate video light ...) well the app is pretty much useless. Reporting the app and recommending everyone to uninstall it asap."
Another person wrote "If you plan to buy the lights. Do not ever use the app. It will ruin your lights."
I contacted GVM, and they said that GVM doesn’t own the app. They have no control over the app. It is OWNED BY A THIRD PARTY... and without downloading this awful third-party app I am unable to access all of the features advertised for this kit. I let GVM know that this makes them look bad, and that they need to change how they advertise this kit on B&H.
Otherwise, if you want to buy this kit without the 8 customizable effects in Scene Mode at this price, it is a nice kit. I would probably have given 5 stars to the kit, without the deceptive claim of extra features.

These lights have been a consistent part of my setup. The controls are straightforward and easy to get the hang of, even if you don’t have much experience with lighting gear. They power on quickly and work every time without issue—which is exactly what I need during shoots.

Yes you can go from daylight to tungsten, nice thing is it doesn’t go slightly green on the tungsten end which other lights I’ve seen does.

Maximum watts consumed, 40W. GVM does not provide photometric data, nor do they suggest an output ratio for judging tungsten equivalence.
A rough ratio of 5 to 1 is usually a good estimate but multiple factors will come into play. This light has a wide beam angle , so you lose power there. As an rgb unit 2/3 of the leds are dedicated to white light production varying from 3200 to 5600k. So only 2/3 of the 40w goes to white light production and maximum white light will be at the midpoint of 4400k. There will be less luminence as you move toward 3200k and 5600k. You can see a single answer is impossible. A fair estimate would probably be somewhere between 100 and 150 watts of tungsten equivalent.

Can you mount the Diffuser at same time than Doors?
If Yes, can you keep the Diffuser while closing the doors to protect the LEDs, or you have to unmount the Diffuser to close doors?

The diffusion that comes with the GVM 800D RBG LED can be used in conjunction with the barndoors. It can be left in place when stored or transported.
