The iOptron iPolar External Electronic Polar Scope brings the ubiquitous polar alignment scope into the 21st Century by utilizing a digital camera and the downloadable computer software for your Windows PC to provide accurate polar alignment anywhere on earth, even if your pole stars aren't visible or the night is cloudy or suffers from light pollution. Simply follow the on-screen alignment instructions and you'll be properly and accurately polar aligned for your observation or astrophotography sessions. Power for the iPolar comes from the included 24" USB cable that tethers it to your computer, and since it's plug-and-play compatible there are no drivers that need to be installed before your computer recognizes it. This version of the iPolar is supplied with an external mounting adapter that attaches to your Celestron CGEM, NEQ6, or AZEQ6 equatorial mount, and additional adapters are available separately so you can move a single iPolar between multiple equatorial mounts—simply pick up the mounting adapter that fits your other mounts.

Delivered as promised on time. Weather has prevented actual use as yet however with 2 wraps of 5 mil friction tape it fits an LX 58 nicely.
Best astronomical accessory!
I always struggled with polar aligning my Telescope. It was very frustrating trying to get it accurate enough for Astrophotography. I had read many articles about electronic polar scopes online and in magazines, but I was hesitant about their accuracy. I decided on the ioptron over the QHY Polemaster, because it looked easier to use. I am so glad that I bought it! After installation, which was quick and painless, I went through the simple one time calibration process. I found it fun to adjust the mount until you lined up the red cross over the circle. The accuracy was amazing, my mount has never tracked so good from my own attempts to polar align. It was well worth the price, the quality is great (all metal no plastic), the speed at which B&H got it to me (2 days) was amazing. As always B&H was fantastic. That is why I try and buy everything from them.
