These mixes had to be dumped. They mixed up black and could not be used. Some years ago this problem occurred. About 6 months ago I bought one, hoping they had fixed their problems. It actually worked so I decided to trust it again. FOOLED TWICE SHAME ON ME. I will never take a chance on Kodak developers for B & W again. Film developers had a similar problem years back when this started. I run a custom printing service and can't afford to take chances.

Using for over 60 years and never a disappointment. 1oz powder to 31oz water and good to go. Recommend mixing the day before printing for best results. 1 min for a litho look, 2mins for a grey scale look.

Is it safe to purchase Dektol again? Or is there still something wrong with it?
Asked by: Scott
I purchased Dektol recently, it's still the dark colored one. I've been having problems with it exhausting extremely quick. It will work fine for a couple of hours, but after that the tones on the paper become muddy and brown. The contrast is significantly reduced.

Does 'Dektol - 2019 Version' mean that it's the contaminated stuff?

In my experience yes. Dektol with manufacturers date of 2020/04/01. Expiration date of 2023-04 was dark brown and stained prints. Dektol purchased recently, expiration date 2024/11 was the correct color and acted normal in all respects. Dektol is back.

Why is it taking Kodak so long to fix this? Any end in sight?

I just bought some Dektol from Glazers in Seattle and it is back to it's normal color and performance. It is lot #2021/04/13066 and expires 2024/04. I print for two important photo archives so this is very good news for me. Craig
