Kodak Professional T-MAX Developer is a liquid concentrate black and white film developer helping to produce expanded shadow detail and maintain accurate tonal reproduction with normally processed and push-processed roll films. This concentrate is a buffered solution designed to be diluted with water at 1:4 for easy mixing for small tank and rotary tube development. This 1-liter bottle contains enough concentrate to make 5 liters of working solution. Professional T-MAX developer is designed for one-shot use and should not be replenished. It is meant for roll film only and not recommended for use with sheet films.

Why isn't Tmax developer recommended for use with sheet film? I have used it to develop Tmax sheet film (using trays) in the past and have not had any discernible issues.
Kodak cautions against using T-Max developer with sheet film, because of the risk of dichroic fog.

after mixing 1:4 with water, can this be diluted further as a working solution vs. a stock solution?
I would not recommend diluting your working solution of the Kodak Professional T-MAX Film Developer (To Make 5L, 2019 Version) past the recommended 1:4 ratio. The directions for development from Kodak is based off of the proper dilution of the working solution, which would be a 1:4 mixture. If you dilute the 1:4 working solution further, then you would also need to practice with that strength solution to find your own development times for the different films you will be developing with your weaker solution.

Is this for T Max film only. Is this for 100 speed or faster. Is there a film that I should avoid if I buy this. Are there any samples?
This developer will handle most, if not all Kodak black and white films.

What changed with respect with the older version? What chemicals?
The label on the product indicates a "new formula" which implies a chemistry change. Checked on Kodak website, "KODAK PROFESSIONAL T-MAX Developers - New Formula, same great results!". After reviewing the documentation, © 2017 Kodak Alaris Inc.December 2017 ⢠J-86, there was no mention as to exactly what was changed.
