Lensbaby Sweet 35 Overview

Have unprecedented precision control over the "sweet spot" of focus in your selective focus photos with the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 35 Optic available here with a Canon RF mount. This updated tool is completely compatible with the established Optic Swap System and can use any of the numerous optics available. This version improves upon the original Pro model by featuring a metal body as well as an improved tilt function that ranges from 0-15° in any direction.

Bundled with it is the Sweet 35, the widest focal length of any Lensbaby selective focus optic. This curved field optic differs from your standard lens by creating a spot of focus when tilted that can be manipulated in position by tilting the Composer and manipulated in size by manually changing the aperture from f/2.5 to f/22. The optic also offers manual focus as close as 7.5" from your subject. Additionally, it has a 46mm filter thread as well as an internal 12-blade diaphragm for extra smooth out-of-focus areas.

So far it's my favorite lens, it's something different for the EOS R camera takes my creativity to a whole different level I have RF glass but I enjoy my lensbaby a bit more!

I already have a nice assortment of Fujinon lenses for the X-T20, but I wanted to try something different. This is my first experience with a non-Fujinon lens on the X-T20.  First off, it does what it says it’s supposed to do and it’s a lot of fun to play around with it. That said, the build-quality falls short of Fujinon lenses, but that’s OK. This is a once-in-awhile lens. It took me a while to figure out how to get it to work, though. Fuji buries the Shoot Without Lens setting under the SET UP main menu, and then buried under the BUTTON/DIAL SETTING sub-menu. The instructions that came with the lens aren’t specific, but that’s really not on LensBaby. Overall, I’m looking forward to experimenting and seeing how far I can take this lens.

I love this new lens!� It's a great little art lens that allows for a spot of tack sharp focus surrounded by beautiful blur.� The focus can moved around the frame by simply moving the lens on a ball joint.� The Sweet 35 Optic can be removed from the Composer Pro ll and other optics added, so it's possible to switch between a Sweet 50 Optic, a Twist 60 Optic, and so on.� I don't use this lens everyday, but it's a really fun lens that will add a whole new perspective to your photos.� I'd recommend it.

Used the Sweet 35 to change up the shooting process and look at the studio in a different way. This was an update for me from the original lens baby. The fact that the optics can be changed is great. Easy to use and sharp images. Used with the Canon 5D MKIV.

Excellent for it's specialized purpose

Takes a bit of practice for focus/exp control. But results are as promised when you get the hang of it. I'm a pro retoucher, and can emulate the effects in post. But getting special effects in camera can often produce lucky accidents that aren't easy to replicate in post. Plus, it's a time saver to have the desired effect on demand. The sharp sweet spot can be defined by tilting the lens element, which makes this lens combo unique. And you can swap other lenses onto the rear element. I had questions about operation, and Lensbaby staff answered my call in seconds, telling me EVERYTHING I needed to know about their gear. The effect can be controlled by changing the F stop. On my Canon 7DII, I can have auto exp in AV mode. Focus can be a bit tricky, so need to bracket a bit. But I'm sure this will improve with practice. Affordable lens for the purpose. Four stars ONLY because manual focus is trickier at my point on the timeline. Try one!

The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Sony A Mount Camera (http://bhpho.to/2aM18C4) allows you to maintain infinity focus due to the corrective lens. The Twist 60 Optic is made for the Composer Pro II or Composer Pro Lens Body.

Yes, any of our Canon mounted lenses will be compatible with your camera. They will work in aperture priority mode and your in-camera light meter should work.

Why is the mount for the Composer Pro 2 fitted with the sweet 35, so much smaller than the Composer Pro 2 mount fitted with the sweet 50?

It most likely is due to the focal length. I suggest that you contact LensBaby directly. FYI - if you haven't already, program the Fuji X to allow the shutter to be released without a lens attached because the LensBaby is totally manual.
