I'm new to the NATO standard: does this monitor ...

I'm new to the NATO standard: does this monitor holder clamp straight onto a rail, a like you would a clothes pin (or an angry crab pinching you), or do you slide the accessories on from the end and clamp in place? Considering for Ronin S accessory switch grip. Thanks!

No wrench is needed. The non-NATO side of the unit rotates on the central axle that you see in the product picture. You simply push it one way or the other.

What is the exact measurements of the Nato rail base? The dimensions provided do not provide the base width.

The exact width of the base is not listed. However it is a standard Nato Rail and since the top part is 46mm across we estimate it will be around 30mm across for the base.
