I read the reviews, but like with many things, I initially thought people simply didn’t know how to use it properly. However, this product is utterly useless. The rubber spacers, supposedly for « shock resistance, » are far too soft and flimsy. Furthermore, you can’t tighten the space between them to prevent wobbling. This mount can’t even hold a lightweight microphone, and it immediately sags, becoming a floppy mess. This is easily the worst product I’ve ever encountered from Small Rig. Please avoid purchasing this garbage.
This product is strictly for smaller lightweight microphones. It can’t hold a standard size professional shotgun microphone like a Sennheiser 416 or MKE model without dropping and flopping all over when you move. It’s unfortunate, because it is otherwise a great design if they just had some way to adjust the level of shock absorption or to keep the mic from tilting down.
