Can it connect to a smart phone?
Asked by: Maeve
You cannot without an adapter. You need to change the TRS to TRRS. This is the adapter BH #ROSC4 which can be found on the B&H website. Or you could just get a Rode smart Lav and plug it right into your phone if you like, this is the part number for the Rode smart Lav B&H # ROSMARTLAVP.

You can try but it's likely it will not work. As the locking collar may stop the pin from making contact.

Are the cables on this lav improved from the original filmmaker kit. I have had to replace 3 lavs under warranty in the past 5 years as a result of cable shorts? They are very thin and not "durable", despite being described as such.

Not sure. This is the first Rode mic I've had. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
