The flat storage capabilities of this stand from Phottix are made possible by their special Fast Assembly Mortise Module (FAMM) system. If one were to procure a set of multiple Padat 300s, simply click them into one another to more efficiently store the stands in their proper place. Should there be an operator error that causes accidental slips or just to assist with the lowering of loads on the heavier end of the Padat 300's capacity, the four individual risers that compose the stand's center column are air-cushioned for ease and safety.

This stand is amazing and the price is incredible. I love this stand. I don't understand how it doesn't have any reviews.
I do location shooting in hard-to-get-to places. So, I have to carry my equipment on my back. It might seem crazy to carry a stand like this in a backpack, but it totally works! It folds down almost flat, into almost a rectangle. This reduces it's footprint in a backpack drink pouch. I can fit this stand and a 1L drink bottle simultaneously into the same pouch. It's a little tall, but completely manageable; about the size of a Godox 41" parabolic umbrella.
It is sturdy and extremely well built. I'm completely impressed with the quality. The air cushioning is a very nice feature to have out in the field. The fold down legs make this exceptionally easy to anchor on location. I had this extended to full height, with a Godox AD200 and said 41" umbrella (q.v.) as a storm front was moving in. I had anchored it with my photo bag and it did not fall down. I never would have trusted by old, tall stand to withstand that. It can easily accommodate a boom if anchored properly. Simply awesome!
My only gripe is a lack of a carrying bag. My last big stand came with one as did the two smaller stands I purchased from Phottix. Not that I expected a bag, but I'm a little sad because the other Phottix bags are really nice.
If you want to make no compromises in your lighting stand on location, look no further. Take pictures no one else does because you can have the lighting setup the situation calls for. I have yet to see a stand at this price or more that is comparable value.
