Rotolight Titan X2 Reviews

Cutting Edge Lighting at it's best!

I know the first thing people will say is that the Titan X2 is expensive. They will also say it doesn't have best in class power. Both are true. But this light has so many other features that mitigate the cost and power arguments. First off this light can replace at least 3 panels. So cost per unit required drops significantly. From a power standpoint it can light up a basketball court, thats more than enough for me. The feature set is incredible. The built in diffusion makes you giggle the first time you try it. Add in the built in color gels with the diffusion and the giggles continue, Play with the Sfx function and add lightning, strobe, fireside and even police chase and the giggles turn into a smile. My favorite feature is the High Speed Sync flash function. There is no reset time. If your Camera will shoot 10fps, this light will shoot flash at 10fps. Using the flash mode in the field also greatly saves battery power. There are just too many great features to list. The creative opportunities this light provides is a game changer is all respects. Highly recommend the Titan X2 or the Titan X1.

so much to share automated Diffusion, no filters to mess around with and store. any and i mean any color i could ever dream of, saved presets special effects. just the best one innovative light i have seen in a very long time! creativity for both video and still photography has skyrocketed since getting my hands on this light.

Outstanding product, class of the field.

Where do I start with this light?? Well probably the electronic diffusion feature since I've never seen anything like it before - what a great idea. You simply dial a knob and you can add up to 2 stops of diffusion electronically - and the difference in spread is very noticeable and provides a lot of options - its like the equivalent of having a Lee 216 with a dial to adjust how much of it you want - such a killer feature and saves a heck of a lot of time. The other feature of note is the touchscreen interface. I found it easy to use, you can create your own presets to recall later for upcoming scenes, and the SFX are awesome and unlike other panels in this class, obvious to find. Lastly, the skin tones are great probably the best I've seen in a light like this, and there is a lot more power compared to the Gemini or Skypanel S60. This is a great product and very well priced for the quality and features.

Misleading Output Claims

I bought one fully expecting it to be brighter than an arri skypanel as it claims to be the brightest 2x1 led on the market. The brightness claims is at 50% diffusion which I didnt find as soft as say the arri standard diffusion. If you put it at 100% diffused, the brightness is nowhere near an arri. A skypanel s60 is 11000 lux at 1m (5600k) and titan at 1m full diffused is 6250 lux. I also ordered it when it was first released and the ouput was even LESS than the claimed output apparently and needed a firmware update to fix (it is since out but not sure if fixed). This light is incredibly pricey and there's a ton of alternatives for less so there was no excuse for me to give it a break when it was so much money. It was promptly returned.

What is the difference between standard and pole yolk ?
Asked by: Siddharth
A light that has Pole yoke is good if you the light is attached to a very tall ceiling. With an Operating Pole you can adjust the light in the yoke, like tilting it. This is some operating poles.

No, the Titan X2 LED DMX Light Panel does not include a case. The Rotolight X2 Soft Bag for Titan X2, BH # ROTTNX2SOFT would be compatible case.
