A finely manufactured tripod for the price. The 504QFII has the fluidity necessary in its pan/tilt head to be able to follow a bird in flight with a spotting scope at full magnification, and the height and support necessary to do so while at a height comfortable for taller people.

Looking for an affordable yet quality tripod, look no further, This has a decent fluid style head, all the requisite adjustments, and quick disco on the head. Doesn't have the fancy features, and not as quick to setup as the more expensive tripods, but very usable, and when you need a decent tripod that may be damaged/abused/modified or just don't have the funds to get the top of the line, this will get the job done and not complain. My use for these are where outside at shows were they get abused/broken/dirty/etc...They do the job, get beat up, scars, sometimes run over, hit, crushed or alike in doing the job they need to do, and that being said better to get the job done with the basic equipment, and not worry about them when the eventual loss occurs. Load up a mirrorless camera streaming, and this tripod, when the stunt or effect causes them to be destroyed in the process, the shot is done, the film is done, and not out a huge amount. They also do the job well, not had them fail before there time, work well, and really decent for the price. Dont hesitate to get for basic needs, and/or spare or the need for equipment that may be damaged on a shoot, great to have a couple of these around on hand.

I have a fairly heavy Canon XL2 camcorder and I needed an inexpensive but well made tripod that could handle the weight. Although I do have to tighten the tilt adjustment almost completely to keep the front-heavy camcorder from dipping forward, this tripod handles it very well. I saved hundreds of dollars by going with the Slik 504QF-II. Sturdy construction, well made.

Great for the money. Sturdy. Decent head. Configures to most shooting situations easily. Legs spread out flat for low shots -- also, center post can flip for super low shots (you just have to flip them in edit).

I've had this same model for over 10 years and is still working like new! Very durable and sturdy construction. I highly recommend this tripod for photography and video applications. Now I have two SLIKs.
This video/photo tripod is robust as well as bulky. The head has a spring to compensate movement is cool. The handle lets you make smooth movements and lets you take picture in portrait mode. The legs have a system to tighten with screws instead of clamps
