There is a bit over 5 1/2 vertical clearance, so you should have no problem mounting your camcorder in the VB-2000.

The 1/4 threaded base will attach to most camera units and the camera body will fit inside the opening as the camera is less than 5" tall. BUT if you want to extend the flash on the top of the camera or attachments to the hot plate that MIGHT get in the way of the brace if you are using it extended across as an oval as you see in the image. The stabilizer has a plastic plate mount on top that you might use instead but I found the quality of that to be very flimsy.
