The 3.7 lb R2004 Aluminum Tripod from Sirui is a 4-section support with aluminum-constructed tubes and a twist-leg lock system. You can disengage the locks; therefore, the legs are extendable, along with the rapid center column, to a maximum height of 64.2". With variable leg angles, you can splay the legs out, so the tripod drops to a minimum height of 15.2". Even with the low height, the center column is reversible to get closer to the ground, which is ideal for macro photography. The unique wing-nut design locks the collar to keep the center column at its required height, and the tripod folds to a length of 20.7" to easily transport or store away. The rubber feet retract back to expose the stainless-steel spikes to further stabilize the tripod on icy surfaces or soft terrain.

This is my 2nd Sirui 2004 tripod. Both are excellent quality and work great. B&H were great a guiding me through the rebate process. I would buy another Sirui tripod if it was needed.
Sturdy and Easy to use

I have never been a fan of tripods, I prefer to hand hold. But when I got a lens that weighed almost 8# I needed something. This tripod is sturdy enough to hold the boat anchor lens and gimbal with no problem. What a joy to use this and feel that my equipment is safe and steady. While it's heavier than I would want to carry for a great distance it's great if you're sticking to one spot.
