While Westcott does not indicate the dimensions of the carrying case included with the Westcott X-Drop 3-Pack Backdrop Kit (5 x 7'), the packaging dimensions of the Westcott X-Drop 3-Pack Backdrop Kit (5 x 7') would be 34.4 x 9.2 x 9.1" (87.4 x 23.4 x 23.1 cm), so you may look for a case with these approximate dimensions.

How large of an area does this take up when set ...
How large of an area does this take up when set up?
At full extension, the floor space is 5’wide by 4’deep, however in tight spaces, the back leg of the backdrop stand can come in 2-3 feet and maintain strong stability. therefore, the smallest footprint it is able to become is 5’wide by 1’deep.

Will this work with the x drop system that came ...
Will this work with the x drop system that came with the 5x12’ drop? I don’t need a longer drop and would prefer to go with 5x7’ for my second drop. The description says this 5x7’ works with the 5x7’ system but looks like the same only no material for a “floor drop”
Yes it will. There is one X-Drop frame (Westcott Part #570X) and both the 5x7 and 5x12 work with that frame.

The Westcott X-Drop Pro Wrinkle-Resistant Sweep Backdrop stand has hooks for the grommets to put it on. If you will do DIY backdrop - you will be able to place it on the stand, but at the moment we do not carry any off brand backdrops with that type of mounting.
