Bundled together by B&H for your convenience, the Rode NT1-A Complete Vocal Recording Kit gives you almost everything you need to record vocals at home, be they sung or spoken. With a high-quality microphone, an audio interface, a reflection filter, a mic stand capable of holding the reflection filter, a pair of headphones, and clamp-on headphone holder, you'll be well on your way to recording your own vocals in your home studio.
First, you get the Rode NT1-A microphone, a large diaphragm condenser with a cardioid polar pattern well suited for recording in less-than-optimal rooms. The low self-noise of this mic will make sure your vocals are free from any machine noise that might come from the mic itself. The mic comes with a shockmount, a detachable pop filter, and a 20' shielded XLR cable.
Next, you get the Foscusrite Scarlett 2i2, a USB audio interface with a selectable air settings for capturing a more expensive-sounding tone. This interface sports the necessary phantom power to operate the condenser microphone. A special tripod mic stand supports both your mic and the provided reflection filter, which helps keep extraneous room noise out of your recordings. The Audio-Technica ATH-M30x headphones let you monitor your vocals without inducing headphone bleed, thanks to the closed-back, over-ear construction. When you're done with the headphones, you can hang them on your mic stand, thanks to the clamp-on headphone holder.
