I plan to used this lens the on a7 II. Is this lens sharper than Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS Lens? Because I'm very disappointed with my kit lens not being sharp.
Asked by: Kyle
Unfortunately, I have not seen a comprehensive lens comparison test between the Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens for Sony E and the Sony FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens. However, that being said, prime (single focal length) lenses are more often sharper than their zoom counterparts. While they do not always tell the entire picture, viewing each lens' MTF chart, the Tamron lens does appear to have higher resolution and contrast performance, so I do feel it would be the sharper of the two lenses.

No. This is a 24mm f/2.8, whereas the one you linked is a 20mm f/2.8. The 20mm has a wider angle field-of-view.
