Aputure MC Overview

The Aputure MC RGBWW LED Light is a palm-size multifunction light measuring only 3.7 x 2.4 x 0.7". It can be mounted via a 1/4"-20 thread or attached to various metal objects via its built-in magnets. Part of the Aputure M-series of lights, it features RGB LEDs as well as tungsten- and daylight-balanced LEDs. It offers 360° hue control and emits up to 95% of the BT 2020 color gamut. The compact light also packs nine built-in special effects settings. You can control it with its native buttons, control wheels, and a small OLED display in the top corner, or remotely using the companion iOS/Android Aputure Sidus Link app.

Built-In Special Effects
Select from nine digital special effects, such as Fireworks and Lightning, to creatively enhance your shot at no additional cost. The Cop Car effect, for example, produces a siren effect. Paparazzi looks like a bunch of camera flashes going off at the same time. TV gives the impression that a TV is on somewhere in the scene.
Control 100 Lights Remotely
  • Free-download Aputure Sidus Link companion app for iOS and Android
  • Control up to 100 MC RGBWW LED units simultaneously in a "Sidus Mesh" network that can extend up to 1300' with up to 260' distance between the fixtures
  • Adjust the light's HSI, CCT, FX, and other settings
  • Color Picker function in the app allows you to point your smartphone's camera at a color and capture it, and the light will reproduce that color instantly

Small, lightweight, easy to manage but I can't use it to light miniatures or Macro shots. The led light leaves line patterns that show up on my 45mp sensor.

Dashboard light? Check. Kicker? Check. Overhead with built in magnets? Check. Honestly you can do so much with these, it's no wonder they're popular. Worth the hype, even more when on sale!!! BT is reliable and hasn't failed yet! Even when hooked up to a scene with over 15 other lights.

This is a great little practical or hidden light. Love the magnets and the RGB color. Also the convenience of the app control is awesome. Aperture is always top notch.

It's exceptionally bright, and i'm having a ton of fun playing with all the modes. I love that it comes with a diffuser and case as well. My only complaint is that it's magnets are a bit too strong for me and I've dropped it a few times when trying to remove it from my fridge.

I wanted this for a flexible (battery) light source for tabletop photography. I like its size; variable light control, and seeming build quality. My only complaint is that its not very bright. Looking at it, its blinding, but for lighting objects on my tabletop studio, its like the light barely is able to make it out of the unit. Im no light expert; a guide number (lumens?) would have helped in decideing to buy it or not.

Yes. You can see it in the pictures provided. It's also in the description. "This lightweight light fixture easily fits in the palm of your hand and can be mounted using the built-in 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole or attached to metal items via its built-in magnets."
