FLM CP34-L4 II Reviews
Great Size – Very Solid Tripod
I was looking for a tripod that was heavier and taller than my old travel tripod but not outlandishly large. The FLM CP34-L4 tripod fits my needs perfectly. It matches up very nicely with the FLM 70GX ball head as well as my gimbal. After using it several times I found the stability excellent. I do not fly much, so the few occasions that I do, I see no problem placing it diagonally in my carry-on. Taking the top plate off takes even a touch more off the length if needed. Very satisfied with the purchase!
I love my RR... uh.... um FLM Tripod!
Honestly, I have never owned a RRS tripod. But I have used one before for a short time. And I was impressed enough that I started wanting to replace my old tripod. But I could not stomach pay the price for a RRS tripod. So the value is definitely one primary factor. But I also wanted to get a taller tripod that provided more stability, especially when I was using my 100-400 lens. And this tripod meets both those requirements exceptionally well. Why such a tall tripod? When I am in the mountains and setting up on a slope, the taller tripod allows me to clear distracting foreground elements. Also, when I am in the swamps, the taller tripod allows me more opportunities to set up the shot on a tripod. The ease of use, the solid feel, and many things I can't quantify all lead me to highly recommend this tripod for anyone who needs a solid well-constructed tripod.
