I'm Now a Level-Headed Photographer :-)
I am already an RRS user so I was a bit biased to get an RRS leveling base. I'm using it with the RRS TVC-33 tripod and have the TA-2U leveling base attached to the tripod base with the supplied 3/8 stud. If you own/buy the RRS tripod models that allow you to remove the tripod's plate, you'll be able to conveniently drop-in the leveling base onto the tripod head for an even sleaker configuration. It works great! Another reason I picked this one was for the +/-20 degree swing. I find myself often shooting on a heavily sloped beach. I used to have to adjust the legs to get a level horizon and re-adjust as the legs settle into the sand, especially when a few inches of sea water rushes past the legs. It's now easier quickly to re-level.
