Where can I get a Handle for the counterweight? The bolt sucks
Asked by: Ari
The handle is removed because the rearmost locking collar allows you to move that section meaning there's no need to loosen and tighten the counterweight to balance the boom. Following that train of logic, if it's a permanent fixture then you can more securely tighten a bolt with a tool than you can a handle by hand meaning it should be safer. As a part the handle is listed as the Manfrotto R022,03.

For the max load, is it liner ie at half extension would be 15Kg or how do you know the limit at a given length?
Asked by: Cameron
These are the listed parameters 88 lb (40 kg) @ Minimum extension 22 lb (10 kg) @ Maximum extension, you test the arm on different extension length's until you are comfortable on how stable it is.

question

Can I load a Mola Mantti 43.5 with a profoto D1 / B1 head? thats like 27-28lbs at what length max can I place the Mola it says it only holds 22Lbs at max so at what length can I place 28lbs?
Asked by: Andres C.
I have used the arm to its maximum load, but the boom clamp is inadequate to hold the load at maximum extension. I ended up using a locking block and tackle run from the counterweight to the stand to keep the arm raised into position and to facilitate the smooth lowering of it. I also had to weight the stand accordingly as you'd expect. Cheers, Bill.

question

Can you use the Avenger D650 Junior Boom Arm with the Avenger A2018F C-Stand?
Asked by: Greg A.
I would not recommend a C Stand. This boom is BIG and heavy. I would recommend one of the avenger roller stands. Like the one attached to this answer.

question

what is the best light stand?
Asked by: steven T.
I did not buy a stand for this boom as I already had highboys The boom is pretty heavy with the counter weight so it needs a solid stand. Would not work with a C stand. hope this helps.
