The 9.5', silver-finished stainless steel C-Stand with Grip Arm and Turtle Base Kit from Savage innovates on the traditional C-stand design by incorporating a second 1 1/8" junior receiver for greater mounting flexibility. The stand comes with a standard 40" double riser, an additional 20" riser, and a junior to baby bin adapter to maximize your rigging options from high reaching sources to low-profile uplighting. This kit also includes a 40" steel grip arm equipped with a standard gobo head and one of Savage's uniquely designed gobo clamps.
A Classic Reimagined
While not interfering with the design of a time-tested industry-standard Savage has developed this version of the C-stand with an extra 5/8" junior receiver integrated into one leg of its turtle base. This is a special pass-through port that allows either the included 40" double or 20" single riser to be lowered beyond the bottom of the base. The riser leg essentially replaces the need for a Rocky Mountain leg while maintaining the ability to remove the turtle base entirely, thus reducing the divide between the two major styles of C-stand.
The benefits of a twin-riser C-stand are obvious. Two individual light fixtures may be mounted at once, assisting the use of pixel-mapped lighting programs available from many major light brands. One might also use the included 1 1/8" to 5/8" adapter pin to mount an accent fixture at ground level to add dramatic flair to the shot.
