You can also connect peripherals and accessories wirelessly with Bluetooth 5.0.

The StudioBook features the ScreenPad 2.0. While you can use it as a traditional touchpad, the ScreenPad 2.0 can become an interactive secondary touchscreen. The intuitive interface may resemble a smartphone, but it allows you to easily manage tasks and create your own seamless multitasking workflow. ASUS provides a variety of utility apps you can use, such as Quick Key, which allows for one-tap automation of complex keystrokes, Handwriting, Number Key, and Office Xpert. There are also quick controls available on the ScreenPad 2.0, like the ability to launch a video or group chat, freeing up your main 17" display for an uninterrupted, clutter-free workflow.

Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (64-bit) scales up for machines with a high number of logical processors and large amounts of RAM for server-grade hardware and power users. It also includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for business users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.

Thunderbolt 3

Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.

Windows 10

Start Menu

After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.

Cortana

Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.

Microsoft Edge

After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

Windows Store

For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.

Windows Continuum

Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.

Xbox on Windows 10

Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

The storage capacity is only two slots, both taken. Are the factory installed storage in Raid 0, or are the two installed drives separate from each other? One for operating system, apps, etc, and one for storage, for example?
Asked by: Todd
Please excuse my answer. I thought I was on another site. I can answer that I have this laptop and I have encountered problems wanting to install a third hard drive. ASUS contacted me back, and informed me that the US version of this laptop has a larger battery and because of that, it is impossible to add another drive. I was also informed that removing the RAID 0 to make it 2 independent drives would void my warranty and the laptop would not run as smoothly or use some features if that were to be done. If you are wanting a third drive, I'd try and get the store to contact ASUS for you and confirm this. I can't confirm this personally, as that would mean paying someone to install the

Does this laptop have an hdd drive in addition to the 2 ssd drives? If not, is there a bay to install a 3rd drive? I need one for storage, and I want it in the laptop.
Asked by: Leisha
I am the one that asked this question. I tried to leave a review and it's refusing to post. So, I'll put it here, just in case someone else has this question. I would have given this laptop 5 stars. I waited to try it out, even though it turned out not to be exactly what I needed. I don't store my photographs on the system's hard drive. I feel safer that way. I was looking to replace my old laptop (which has 2 hard drives), with a new laptop that would also hold two hard drives. This has two hard drives, that's true, but they are RAID 0, so they act as a single hard drive. There is suppose to be a bay for an hdd/ssi hard drive. I even purchased a $400 hard drive to go into that bay. I'll admit, I got tired of waiting on ASUS to answer me, because there is conflicting information as to that ability to add an hdd drive. I went ahead and bought the laptop, after confirming with Adorama that it did indeed have the bay for that extra drive. Then ASUS contacted me back after I was using the laptop, and informed me that there are two versions of this laptop and the U.S. version has a larger battery that makes it impossible to install an extra drive. Am I happy with the laptop? Yes, I am. I think you will be too, but be aware of this. It's been a pain in the butt for me, quite frankly, having to use external drives... I just don't like that, and I don't like being misinformed. Would I still buy this laptop? Yes, I would, but I would have been prepared for shifting my way of working.
