B&H has put together this Genaray 3-Light Triangle Kit to offer photographers the lighting opportunity available in this unique configuration. The kit includes three SSL-50 Soft Strip 50" LED Lights with 2-way barndoors, and a 9.5' heavy-duty air-cushioned light stand for each. The triangular configuration allows the user to shoot through the center like a ring light but has more texture and a dimensional quality not seen in the ring light.
Offering a soft wraparound quality thanks to its long, narrow form factor and 400 bright LEDs, the 50" long Soft Strip LED Light from Genaray is a versatile fixture with features that are easy to use in the studio or on location. The light has color temperature that's a solid, daylight-balanced 5600K, with a high CRI/TLCI rating of 96/98.3, an indicator of precise color rendering. The SSL-50 features an all-digital dimmer for single-digit adjustment control throughout the dimming range from 100% all the way down to 1%. Other dimmers without this functionality can exhibit abrupt falloff below 10%, greatly limiting their dynamic range.
The SSL-50 runs barely warm to the touch, allowing you to work close to the subject without causing discomfort or hot light hazards. The power-saving light produces an output of 1693.6 lux at 3' while consuming just 80W of power, helping you keep the temperature of your set and your operational costs down.
The long strip fixture can be used vertically or horizontally for dramatic results. In vertical orientation, the SSL-50 is ideal for use as a sidelight or for dramatic lighting. It also creates long, elegant reflections when shooting products. In horizontal mode, the light has a wraparound quality with appealing falloff at the top and bottom of the frame. Another use is overhead as a hair light.
The SSL-50 has a beam angle coverage of 75 degrees, which can be modified and controlled by its two-way barndoors. The fixture comes with a multi-voltage adapter that makes it ready for world use, but it can also run on optional V-Mount batteries when AC power is unavailable. A hard carrying case is included to store and transport the light.
This Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand is a black anodized aluminum support that rises to a height of 9.5' and folds down to 42" for storage and transport. The stand will handle up to 22 lb and is topped with a removable 5/8" spigot with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads. It has a wide footprint of 52" for greater stability. Air cushioning gently lowers the light when making height adjustments to protect equipment and fingers.
