All images must still be uploaded to Matterport's servers, correct? Is there a local (user hosted server) solution?
what some users do is capture onscreen video from the matterport server then modify/edit and post it. not sure as to if that is allowed or not under the licensing agreement, just explaining how it could be done. that will give you a 2d version, I have not seen a way to use the 3d files.

"View Footage in 3D and VR Applications". This statement is referring to the application in which you can view your footage. Some application are VR accessible and other can be 3D accessible.

Can files be saved and given to a client to use on website? Someone stated in review that Matterport software had to be used. How would a client use it?
To share files with a client, you will need to locate your shareable link via the Matterport Cloud application. Files will not download to memory cards or directly to your devices camera roll.
