Was looking for something to problem solve RCA line level problems. In working with our choir, I run a stand-alone CD player into a Roland keyboard amplifier that even has RCA inputs, but the level was too hot: I barely turned up the amplifier volume and there was too much sound. This device solved the problem. It works as a handy attenuator (whether or not stereo separation is what one is seeking), and it works as a channel separator too. I've used it with choral stereo split tracks (vocals on left channel, orchestral accompaniment on right). I can play a song for the group from the CD, using both channels, then drop out (or just lower, if we want) the vocal track as we learn to sing to the accompaniment. Practical, well-built product!

Does the ground lift switch is only for XLR ...

Does the ground lift switch is only for XLR balanced output or for also RCA output unbalanced

The ground lift switch is for disconnecting the ground of the XLR jack only from the ground of the DB14b.

How does it compare in terms of quality with the ...

How does it compare in terms of quality with the Klark Teknik DI10P also offered in this website? Tech specs of DI-10P seem more comprehensive

Between the two units, the Klark Teknik would be the better buy due to the Midas designed transformers and a wider frequency response.
