Waves MultiMod Rack + Bezerk + MDMX offers three pieces of software in one convenient, downloadable package. This download supplies the MDMX Distortion Module, the Bezerk Distortion Module, and the MultiMod Rack.
Bezerk Distortion can impart both subtle harmonic saturation and wild, blistering distortion to sound sources. It offers a plethora of distortion algorithms, giving you a dropdown Character menu with 10 different overall waveform shapes. You'll also find idiosyncratic controls such as Density, Temperature, and Go! parameters to help you create highly individualized timbres.
MDMX is actually three distortion modules in one. It can give you a fuzz sound, an overdrive effect, or a sound evocative of the classic tube-screamers found on many pedalboards.
If you wish to use MDMX or Bezerk in a multiband manner or modulate different parameters with LFOs, sequencers, and the like, that's where MultiMod Rack comes in. MultiMod Rack can house three different Waves distortion modules, including the Bezerk and MDMX. You can modulate nearly any parameter within either distortion plug-in using MultiMod Rack, and you can apply effects to only the low, mid, or high part of a signal if you so choose.
This software is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems. It will work in VST, AU, Audio Suite, and AAX formats.
Available for download, Waves MultiMod Rack is a 3-slot rack-style plug-in that hosts specific Waves distortion/saturation modules. Each slot can house the Abbey Road Saturator, the Berzerk distortion plug-in, or any module within MDMX such as the Screamer.
Additionally, the MultiMod rack separates your signal into low, mid, and high frequency bands, giving you true multiband control. That means you can use this software to add harmonic coloration to a specific part of the frequency spectrum, with a high degree of control. Moreover, the multiband section offers adjustable crossovers, so you can choose which frequencies get the flavor.
Making matters all the more creative, the software offers five powerful modulators for ideosyncratic manipulation over almost every parameter within each module. Use the LFO, sequencer, and more to achieve feats of esoteric sound-design. When you're nearly done, turn to the post-processing EQ-section to give your sound a final polish, or mangle the signal even further by modulating this EQ.
This software is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems. It will work in VST, AU, Audio Suite, and AAX formats.

Available for download Waves MDMX Distortion Modules is a bundle of three separate plug-ins, each of which models a classic distortion sound. Included are FUZZ, OVERDRIVE, and SCREAMER. All three are intended for musicians, producers, and engineers who seek interesting distortion effects in their sessions.
FUZZ is the most aggressive of the three, giving you classic fuzz-style distortion that can generate octavized tones with tons of color. OVERDRIVE is a bit tamer, sounding more gentle when compared to FUZZ. SCREAMER is a straight-forward overdrive circuit, giving you the sound of a subtle push or heavy drive without sacrificing the general integrity of the original instrument or track.
Each of these plug-ins can operate on mono or stereo sources, and can even do M/S processing. Each of them offers gain, mix, and I/O controls. You can use these plug-ins with Mac and Windows computers, and they operate in AU, VST, AAX and AudioSuite formats.
- 3 distortion plug-ins based on boxes and circuits musicians have favored for years
- For synths, bass, vocals, drums, guitars, and more

Available for download, Bezerk Distortion from Waves is a plug-in that adds anything from harmonic saturation to wild, screeching distortion to your signal. It features a whole host of different distortion algorithms with a dropdown Character menu giving you 10 different overall waveform shapes as well as esoteric controls such as Density, Temperature, and Go! parameters to help you fashion a highly individualized tone.
In addition to its Drive, Mix, and I/O controls, the plug-in provides three tabs that give you a plethora of controls. In the middle of the plug-in's GUI you'll find a Feedback section for implementing modulation, a dynamic section to influence the distortion, and a three-band EQ.
In stereo, M/S processing is on hand. The plug-in comes with presets fashioned by Grammy-winning engineers. Use this plug-in with Mac and Windows operating systems, in AU, VST, AudioSuite, and AAX formats.
The Feedback section is an oscillator It generates a sine wave that tracks the amplitude of the input section. The Feedback module is fed to the Drive, and Drive is then fed back to the oscillator. The oscillator can vary in pitch or frequency, and you can select the high and low limits of its modulation, as well as its speed. For all intents and purposes, it's an LFO for modulating the distortion, creating crazy sounds in the process.
The dynamics tab allows you to control the dynamic characteristics of the signal fed into the drive section. You can choose between compression or expansion via the Up/Down switch, and you can also choose whether to apply the distortion to material above or below the threshold with the Rider/Dyn switch. You'll also note a Blend knob. Note that as you increase the value of the Blend knob, the waveform in the shaper display becomes increasingly complex.
- Low Band: Q is 0.5 to 100; Gain is -12 to +12 dB; Frequency is 60 to 550 Hz
- Mid Band: Q is 0.5 to 100; Gain is -12 to +12 dB; Frequency is 800 Hz to 2.5 kHz
- High Band: Q is 0.5 to 100; Gain is -12 to +12 dB; Frequency is 3 to 11 kHz
You can control the amount of randomness added in the Go! process with the Density knob. Click the Link button between the Drive and Density knobs to link Drive to Density.
