The Impact 32" 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector Disc with Light Stand and Holder Kit from B&H is versatile in the field and in the studio, paring a 32" circular reflector and a 13' light stand with an integrated boom arm.

The reflector features white, silver, gold, and silver/gold surfaces, plus a translucent white diffusion panel, and it collapses down to 1/3 its size for storage. The convertible Boom Arm/Light Stand can support a small or medium light head, and it incorporates a boom arm and two spring clips which can support a reflector up to 60" across.

Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Circular Reflector Disc - 32"

The Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector Disc is versatile in the field and in the studio where it provides shadow-lightening detail in your subject, using available or studio lighting. It starts out as a translucent white disc -- suitable for softening direct sun or lights without diffusion. Use the removable, reversible zippered slipcover to reflect light into shadow areas of your subject. Your choice of color -- silver, gold, white, silver/gold mix -- will be determined by the lighting conditions, and your personal preference.

This 32" disc is suitable for 2-person portraits and small still-life setups. It folds down to 1/3 its open size and comes with a storage sleeve. We suggest the purchase of a pivoting arm and stand to hold the disc where needed -- especially if you are working without an assistant.

Soft Gold combines gold and silver, creating a warm, summery feel that works great with skin tones.
Silver increases the specular highlights and yields a high-contrast image. Its perfect for video, product shots and B&W photography.
Gold produces a natural, golden fill that is great for sunsets, jewelry, and indoor portraits.
White produces an even, neutral-colored bounce light that works beautifully as a fill light source for both product shots and indoor/outdoor portraits.
Translucent fabric is used to diffuse light, producing a broad light source and a soft, wraparound effect that's perfect for outdoor portraits or whenever a softer light is needed.

Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder (13')

The Impact Convertible Boom Arm/Light Stand can support a small or medium light head to a height of 13'. Raise the second section completely, click, and it is a boom stand. As a boom, it can hold a small light head to an extension of almost 3' from the center of the stand.

It is a reflector holder by means of its two clips, which can support an Impact, Flexfill, or Photoflex light disc as large as 60".
A hole at the end of the arm allows an optional counterweight to be hung, for greater stability.

Using as a Boom Stand
  1. Loosen the large long handle in the middle of the stand.
  2. Loosen the top-most section of the stand. Pull that section all the way up.
  3. Pull! Swing it horizontally for the boom feature, and lock it for the desired setup.

It's great. I've debated its need for years, never wanting to pay that much and trying to find the cheapest one, but I finally bought in. I should have done it sooner, better to spend that kind of money on a tool than fast food or Gas, lol. For real, though, just buy it.

question

Can anyone recommend an appropriate reflector holder for this 32 reflector? I want to put it on top of a tripod/light stand but all of the reflector holders seem to be for 60 reflectors and that seems like massive overkill. Impact makes one (Impact Telescopic Collapsible Reflector Holder) but that is way too big. Looking for something cheap that will collapse small.
Asked by: B&H Customer
A smaller and less expensive reflector arm that we offer is the SP Studio Systems Universal Reflector Mounting Arm B&H # SPMAUR. Please see the image below for reference.

How should I care for this product? If I want to get the wrinkles out of the white side to use as a background can I steam it?
Asked by: Anonymous
Only the translucent center can be steamed to remove wrinkles. The covers cannot.

question

What is the difference between this and the westcott? Im choosing between the 2.
Asked by: Jonathan J.
The main differences are the size and the available surfaces. The Westcott 5-in-1 Reflector Disc is smaller at 40.5” and offers Gold, Silver, White, Black and Translucent surfaces. With the Impact 5-in-1 Collapsible Circular Reflector Disc, that is larger at 42” and offers White, Silver, Gold/Silver, and Gold surfaces. The right choice is going to depend on the size of your subject and which surfaces are more important for your particular set up.

question

When white is facing out on the front side, which color is facing out on the back side? I want to be able to instantly flip back and forth between white and silver without needing to remove the cover, turn it inside out, then reassemble the unit.
Asked by: Kevin J.
Bradley, white is not the same as translucent, which is what you are referring to when there is no sleeve on it at all.

question

Is it possible to bounce a tungsten light off of the reflector? Or shine a tungsten light through the white diffusion? I have 650 Watt, 600 Watt, and 1000 Watt lights. Thanks.
Asked by: Paul
I see no reason why it should not be possible. The only problem could be the heat from the light, if the distance is to short. As I have not used the reflector together with tungsten light, I can not give you any guidelines on the distance needed.

question

Can I use this to diffuse light through it or only for reflection/bouncing?
Asked by: Jacob S.
One stop diffusion panel. You will need to remove the reflecting cover.
