JBL Quantum 400 Overview

Whether dropping in to grind or compete, hear and be heard with the Quantum 400 USB Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset in black from JBL. Designed to deliver clear audio while remaining comfortable for long sessions, this gaming headset features an adjustable boom mic, multi-channel surround sound, and memory foam earpads. Located on the left earcup, the flip-up boom mic features auto on/off and mute functions, and sits next to user controls that provide hands-on adjustment. This headphone also features a Discord-certified game-chat balance dial.

Internally, the JBL Quantum 400 uses 50mm neodymium dynamic drivers, which provide a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. In addition to a 3.94' headphone cable, this headset also comes with a USB Type-C to Type-A cable measuring 9.84'. Using the audio cable, this headset is compatible with Windows, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and VR platforms. The USB cable, in addition to facilitating surround sound, also allows users to adjust settings using the JBL QuantumENGINE software, as well as adjust the LED lighting on the earcups. JBL QuantumENGINE software is compatible with Windows 7 or later. In addition to the audio and USB cables, Quantum 400 also comes with a foam windscreen for the mic.

Game-Chat Balance Dial
The JBL Quantum 400 headset features a game-chat balance dial certified by Discord and compatible with TeamSpeak and other communication platforms.
QuantumSURROUND & QuantumENGINE
Using advanced algorithms and additional overhead audio, JBL QuantumSURROUND offers virtual surround sound for increased immersion. This technology relies on the QuantumENGINE software suite, which allows users to select preferred surround sound settings, personalize their headset, and create separate profiles. You can also adjust the equalizer or choose from six presets. DTS Headphone:X 2.0 is also supported.
Voice Focus Boom Mic
Thanks to its flip-up, voice focus directional boom mic as well as its auto on/off and mute features, the JBL Quantum 400 headset ensures you're heard when you need to be.
Compatibility
In addition to full compatibility with Windows Sonic Spatial Sound, the surround sound system native to Windows 10 and Xbox One, the Quantum 400 is also plug-and-play compatible with Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and VR platforms.

Hi! I received these headphones as a gift recently and I noticed that the lights do not turn on for 3.5mm connection to an xbox controller. Is there any way that I can get the lights to work for xbox? Perhaps through a usb c to 3.5mm cable?

No sounds from Xbox whatsoever. Are these required to be plugged into a pc first and download a app to then be used on the Xbox? Instructions claim to plug straight into the controller and go and I have no sound.

Please update the software of your Xbox controller to ensure you're on the latest version and try again. Also, double-check if the headset's volume isn't muted or turned all the way down.

I can't seem to figure out how to get the microphone to work on my dell gaming laptop. The sound works fine just can't seem to figure it out I tried plugging in the usb type-c to type-a with the jack plugged in as well.

Are you able to independently Adjust the volume between chat and in game music

Our JBL Quantum 400 has Game-Chat Balance Support. You can adjust game-chat balance by rotating the dial-up and down. You will feel a notch in the dial that indicates 50 games and 50 chat when you rotate the dial. Or you can see the status on the top bar of the JBL QuantumENGINE.
