K&M 25530.519.55 Reviews
Exactly what I needed. Could not buy at a music store.
This K+M boom is perfect for my needs. I am a working musician, doing so for 50+ years. My main instruments are keyboards, saxophones and my voice as a vocalist. I’ve done solo and group work and studio work in many variety of ways. Rock bands, original bands, pop variety bands, country bands, blues bands and even as a weekly soloist for 30 years leading music for worship at an LCMS church in Michigan. The past few years I find myself back in an 5 piece original / rock and R&B cover band playing in clubs and doing private parties. These days I am using two 88 note keyboards. For a while now it seems that the boom for my microphone needs to be brought to me from the left side of the keyboard due to playing on smaller stages. No room out front. The problem was finding a longer boom than the somewhat standard 34 inches found on most booms. By the time you extend them out to the max the telescoping tube is hanging on an angle. I even used gooseneck extenders, but after a while it just doesn’t tighten down well. The major difference with this boom is the main tube is about 32 inches and then when you need more, you can extend the telescoping tube about 28 additional inches to its max. Having said that, I do not suggest you extend any telescoping booms to their max, but with this stand I only need to telescope it out about 5 additional inches. This boom is also great for someone playing a real piano. I think it is funny that I could not find one music store in town or online that carried this particular boom. They only carried a version of this K+M boom at about double the price. Thank you B&H.
Quality build
The arm feels sturdy and quality. The clutch is smooth and the counter weight work as it should. The length holds the wireless mic perfectly in the center of the grand piano without any fear of sagging.
