This adapter is sexy. I had a few other adapters for M-Sony E mount M- Leica L mount and M-canon RF mount. This one is the best looking. How come everyone else makes the solid cylinder style adapter? No lie I forked up the money and bought the E mount one also! This one looks good on my RP and the E mount one looks sexy on the A1. Enjoy the pics baby.

Misses infinity focus by the smallest amount, which means pics at F2 won't be as sharp as the lens is capable. Such a shame, because everything else about the adapter is great. While I love the idea of an adapter reaching perfect infinity focus at the lens's infinity setting, I've grown to appreciate adapters that allow focus past infinity by a small amount... which insures all lenses can be focused on a target that's essentially at infinity. Perhaps a bit nit-picky, but 15x zoom for focusing on the R5 allows very precise focusing of the target, and even subjects several hundred feet away can be focused precisely.

When using a third-party lens with a lens adapter with no electronic contacts on the Canon EOS R Mirrorless Digital Camera, the camera does not know there is a lens on the camera, and by default, the camera is designed not to release the shutter or record movies if no lens is detected on the camera. As such, as indicated on page 828 of the Canon EOS R5 Instruction manual under the Custom Function menu under C.Fn4, there is an option titled [Release shutter w/o lens], which you have the option to select [OFF: Disable] or [ON: Enable]. You would need to set this setting to [ON: Enable] to allow your camera to release the shutter when using a lens with a lens adapter and no electronic contacts.

Does this adapter focus to infinity? One of the reviews had someone report that, while shooting wide open, infinity focus was not attainable, and I'd love to make sure that it does focus throughout the whole range.

Yes, the TTArtisan Leica M Lens to Canon EOS R-Mount Camera Adapter is designed for infinity focus. Note, it has not been tested with every lens.
