Polsen PCR-65 Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The PCR-65 from Polsen is a cardioid condenser microphone designed for full-range reproduction of vocals and instruments in podcasts, recording studios, and broadcast environments. Its side-address, pressure-gradient design utilizes a large 1" diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern, which minimizes the pickup of off-axis sounds and impedes feedback. The microphone boasts a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, allowing it to accurately transduce the frequencies of a variety of sounds. Its high sensitivity and 125 dB maximum SPL ensure that you can use it on quiet or loud sources, from whispered vocals to pounding drums.

The PCR-65 has a sturdy, metal housing with an alloy finish. The supplied custom shockmount decouples the mic from vibrations and rumble that would otherwise transfer from the floor to the mic. Use the desktop tripod stand for convenient tabletop placement during interviews and podcasts. Phantom power (12 to 52 VDC) is required.

Cardioid Capsule
The 1" capsule's cardioid polar pattern is least sensitive to sound behind the microphone, allowing better rejection of room reflections, which is ideal for capturing vocals and close-miked instruments with greater clarity
Full-Range Frequency Response
The 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response is sufficiently wide to deliver a warm, natural sound for a variety of sources, from the low drone of a double bass to the high shimmer of cymbals to the powerful presence of a vocal
High Sensitivity and Maximum SPL
The microphone's high sensitivity allows it to be used on quiet sources such as a soft voice, without extreme gain, and its high maximum SPL of 125 dB ensures that it can handle loud sounds such as a drum, without distortion
Sturdy and Durable
Metal construction with an alloy finish enables the mic to hold up to the demands of studio and stage environments
Versatile
The supplied shockmount, which decreases pickup of rumble and vibrations, can be mounted on a standard mic stand or the included desktop tripod

Polsen HPC-A30-MK2 Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones

The HPC-A30-MK2 Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones from Polsen offer a solution for experiencing rich and natural sound when listening to music through a mobile device or monitoring a podcast on your computer. These headphones can also be used for DJ work, thanks to the swiveling earcups that let you monitor audio while keeping one ear free.

The HPC-A30-MK2's over-ear design isolates the sound and prevents leakage for optimum listening conditions in loud environments, such as a club or on the go. The 10' cable also gives you the freedom to move around while working and terminates in a 3.5mm TRS stereo plug, which is compatible with most mobile devices and computers. In addition, a stereo 1/4" adapter is included to plug into a stereo or mixing board.

Mobile
The HPC-A30-MK2 headphones deliver a rich sound for listening to audio on a mobile device. Whether you're listening on a smartphone, an iPod, or a tablet, these headphones deliver detailed sound even in noisy environments.
Over-Ear Design
The over-ear design isolates sound in loud environments and prevents leakage for optimum listening conditions. This design is good for listening to music on a busy street, and for DJs who need to monitor their audio in a noisy club.
DJ Applications
The headphones are suitable for DJ applications and include a tuned bass response for low-end clarity. The pivoting earcups are ideal for one-ear or on-the-shoulder monitoring. A padded headband offers to keep you comfortable during a lengthy session.
Broadcast and Podcast
The headphones allow for monitoring audio on a laptop or in a home studio as well as recording a vlog on a smartphone.
Swiveling and Rotating Earcups
If you're a DJ who likes to keep one ear free, you can swivel one of the earcups for on-the-shoulder monitoring. The earcups also rotate 90° so you can turn one of the earcup outward for one-ear handheld monitoring.
10' Cable
A headphone cable that's too short is almost like sitting on the sidelines—you can't be part of the action. If you need to move around while you work, the 10' cable will allow you to move about freely.

Will this connect directly into my Mac or do I need some sort of converter?
Asked by: Jeremy
You will need an audio interface or audio mixer to provide power to the microphone as well as an XLR cable to connect the mic to one of those devices. The audio interface or audio mixer can then be connected to your computer and be recognized as an audio device.

could this microphone be used in a conference room setting to pick up voices around a table?
Asked by: Anonymous
This is a cardioid polar pattern mic, meaning that it's focused on capturing the sound directly in front of it. For conferences where people are all around, an omni-directional polar pattern mic would work best. You could use this mic for recording conferences, but it wouldn't capture everyone's voices. I suggest looking for omni-directional microphones or microphones that have multiple polar patterns with omni-directional being one of them.
