The Kinesis H717-J X-Harness is designed to hold a heavy DSLR with an attached lens, like a large f/2.8 zoom, close to the chest without swinging or swaying. Can you shoot photos while camera is holstered? I have difficulty holding my camera, especially with heavy lens on.
You may absolutely shoot while the camera is holstered to the Kinesis H717-J X-harness. Keep in mind, however, that while tethered, the camera will have a limited range of motion.

Are the straps long enough to connect to the lens lugs on a 600mm lens? Big lenses shouldn't be hanging off the camera mount.
