The Ki Pro Ultra 12G DCI/UHD/HD Recorder and Player is a portable media recorder with a built-in 4.8" LCD screen that is well suited to location as well as studio recording and playback. It supports recording a single 4K stream, either DCI or UHD 4K, as well as multiple HD streams in ProRes. Avid DNxHR and DNxHD recording are supported for a single channel in either 4K or HD. The Ultra 12G features a 12G-SDI input and output, as well as three 3G-SDI inputs and outputs. The redundant XLR power inputs allow for catastrophic failure of one power source with a second one as a backup, so you don't lose a frame when recording.

ProRes 422 and 4444 Recording
The Ki Pro Ultra 12G can record your footage in DCI 4K/UHD 4K/2K/HD at six different quality levels of ProRes including 4444 XQ. This allows you to record your footage in the same codec accessible by many NLE systems, avoiding the need for transcoding before editing.
DNxHR and DNxHD
Avid's DNxHD and DNxHR codecs are likewise supported, and you can record directly to them in the KiPro Ultra 12G, allowing you to take your captured footage directly into your Avid edit system. You can record a single channel of 4K using the DNxHR codec, and DNxHD is also limited to single-channel recording.
Compatibility
You can record and play back a single 4K stream, and you can also simultaneously record four HD streams. This allows you to capture from four different HD streams simultaneously into the same codec for editing, eliminating the need for later transcoding to make the source footage match the needs of your edit system.
Inputs and Outputs
The Ki Pro Ultra 12G Features a single 12G-SDI input and output, as well as three 3G-SDI inputs and outputs. It also features HDMI 2.0 type A input and output connectors, as well as a dedicated SDI monitor output. Integrated SFP cages allow you to source optional SFP connectors, which allow the Ki Pro Ultra 12G to work with SDI over fiber.
HDR Support

64-Channel Audio Support
Multichannel audio monitoring is available on the built-in display as well as the dedicated SDI monitor out and the HDMI output connector.
2SI
Ki Pro Ultra 12G supports both Square Division Quad Split format and Two Sample Interleave, offering a wide number of options to both record and play back DCI and UltraHD 4K.
AJA Pak Media
Two slots for AJA Pak media allows the Ki Pro Ultra 12G to record nearly endlessly as it will automatically roll over to a new Pak when the first one is filled. It supports Pak 2000, Pak 1000, Pak 512, and Pak 256 media, and you can format in either HFS+ or exFAT.
Closed Captioning
Closed captioning is supported following CEA-608 or CEA-708 protocols.
Control
The Ki Pro Ultra 12G can be controlled over a LAN via the RJ45 connector, or RS-422 over the integrated DB-9 connector.
Sync
It features two sync in and two sync out BNC connectors.
Power
The unit features redundant 4-pin XLR power inputs that support 12 to 18 VDC input from a battery or other power source. An included AC/DC power supply enables you to run the unit from mains power from virtually anywhere in the world.
Ki Protect
Ki Pro Ultra 12G includes Ki Protect, a feature that helps to ensure data integrity if a media drive is accidentally removed or loses power during recording.

So it can record 4 inputs at the same time. In playback mode can it play those same 4 recordings at once or can it only playback one at a time?
According to AJA gang playback of 4 clips is not supported, however there is an indirect way by recording as a single UHD or 4K clip.
1) Make sure all the sources are genlocked to the same reference.
2) All the sources need to be the same 1080p format.
3) Record as a single channel UHD file (Square Division)
4) On playback the each SDI output will show the individual sources.

This can only record a single video signal at a time. If you were to combine all four signals into to one, then it could do it. Otherwise you are going to need four separate recorders.

You would need the AJA Pak-Adapt-eSATA Adapter, BH #AJPAKADPTEST, for that to be possible. The Pak-Adapt-eSAT is a Pak Media sized adapter with an eSATA connector that allows the user to attach a qualified RAID or single volume storage via an eSATA cable so that it may be used as a recordable drive.
