In the listing without the vest it states that Redking can support up to 15lbs, here it states 7.5lbs. Are these different models of Redking?
It is the same RedKing Stabilizer with a 15lbs payload capacity, however, 7.5lbs is the maximum payload that you can use without damaging the Vest Arm. The Vest Arm only supports 22lbs including the weight of the RedKing Stabilizer, Payload and Counterweights.

Is it possible to use this device for standing viewfinder shooting?
The FLYCAM Galaxy Arm and Vest Kit with Redking Camera Stabilizer (B&H# FLCMGLXYRKQ) can be used to hold up the stabilizer such that the viewfinder of some (but not all) cameras mounted on it would be usable. If you need to raise the camera further then you might consider adding a riser plate or another other similar product such as the CAMVATE Quick Release Baseplate with 15mm Rod Clamp & Vertical Adjustment (B&H# CAC2649). Will the vest and arm allow the use of different gimbals (to upgrade the stabilizer in the future) but not have to replace the arm+vest? It looks like most arm systems out there have the same size mounting for stabilizers. Thank you!
This GyroVu Universal Stabilizer Arm Post Adapter will allow you to use most gimbal stabilizers with this system.

Are the makers of Flycam Redking or anyone else ...
Are the makers of Flycam Redking or anyone else going to make a tripod head as an accessory for the flycam to be used interchangeable with a tripod using the same tripod plate? That appears to be a given. It would sure make the Flycam more versatile, provided it was a good tripod head.
The head of the stabilizer accepts a Manfrotto 501. So any tripod that accepts a 501 could be used to quickly switch a camera between this rig and a tripod.

Is this flycam made only for use with DSLRs or do you guys think I would have success using a glide cam like this Redking with a Canon XA11 video camera? The XA11 already has pretty good stabilization but I want really smooth hand held shots.
This has 7.5 lb load capacity. It should work well with the Canon XA11.
