Can this quick release plate be used on any head that claims to have an arca-type quick release? I'd like to have one tripod with a focusing rail head, and another tripod with a ball type head, but only one quick release plate for my camera body.

what is the diameter of the base of the ball head ? would this to large to fit on a 3 legged thing winston 2 tripod ?
Since the base of the Benro GX30 Two Series Arca-Type Low Profile Aluminum Ball Head is 47mm (1.85"), and the top of the 3 Legged Thing Winston 2 Tripod is 40mm, it will work, but there will be a little bit of overhang.
