The background pops open quickly and easily and then can be collapsed to 1/3 its open size for storage in it's included zippered bag.

It can but not with this stand it needs two points of contact on top to hold it firmly.

The 5 x 7 collapsible background can be collapsed. Take the narrow end of the background push it in to your gut. Grab the sides of the background bend the like a taco cross the sides lift the bottom of the background and you should have 3 circles.

Is this sufficient for people standing up or do thy have to be sitting?
The Impact Collapsible Background V2 Kit (5 x 7', Black/White) is up to 7' tall and can be used for half body portraiture and headshots. Photographing someone over 6' tall can present itself as a challenge.

Any lightstand will work and I've also propped it up. I recently purchased from B&H the Impact Collapsible Reflector Holder (Large). It is made to hang this background on a lightstand. Just a note it is heavy duty.
