Impact BGCS-57BW-BK Overview

The 5x7' Collapsible Background Kit from Impact contains a 13' Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder as well as a reversible 5x7' black and white background. The boom can be used to hold a small or medium light head or even a reflector up to 60" using its included clips. The boom accepts an optional counterweight for additional balance and stability. Set up is quick and easy.

The collapsible, reversible background saves you the time and expense of having to purchase two separate backgrounds. The real advantage is that the dual-sided background allows you to quickly set up for two different looks during one session. It comes in its own handy see-thru storage bag.

Impact Collapsible Background V2 (Black/White, 5 x 7')

Shoot in the studio or on location with this rugged muslin 5 x 7' Collapsible Background V2 in black/white from Impact. Use it for everything from product shots to fashion photography and more. Photographers will appreciate the easy setup, the lightweight and compact folded size, and the transparent carry bag. The background is spot washable and self-supporting when leaned against a wall or pole.

Top and side loops with touch-fastening fabric can be used for convenient attachment to a tripod, stand, or background holder. This background is reversible to provide two backgrounds in one. You can quickly shoot the same portrait with two different backgrounds to give your client two looks to choose from. The flexible steel frame helps keep the fabric flat.

Black and White Backgrounds
The bright white fabric provides a soft and diffused reflection with fill light when shooting portraits, models, or fashion. The black fabric absorbs light and deepens shadows for a dramatic effect.
Material
This reversible background is made from rugged muslin fabric to absorb light and reduce reflections.
Flexible Steel Frame
The steel frame is lightweight yet strong enough to stretch the fabric smooth, so you won't experience inconsistencies in your light. Once the shoot is over, the flexible frame folds down to a compact circle one third its expanded size. It fits neatly into an included carry bag for transportation or storage.
Attachment Options
The background features an integrated top loop and two side loops with heavy-duty touch fasteners for convenient attachment to a tripod, stand, or background holder.

Impact Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder (13')

The Impact Convertible Boom Arm/Light Stand can support a small or medium light head to a height of 13'. Raise the second section completely, click, and it is a boom stand. As a boom, it can hold a small light head to an extension of almost 3' from the center of the stand.

It is a reflector holder by means of its two clips, which can support an Impact, Flexfill, or Photoflex light disc as large as 60".
A hole at the end of the arm allows an optional counterweight to be hung, for greater stability.

Using as a Boom Stand
  1. Loosen the large long handle in the middle of the stand.
  2. Loosen the top-most section of the stand. Pull that section all the way up.
  3. Pull! Swing it horizontally for the boom feature, and lock it for the desired setup.

This is a great bargain with the included stand. It's super easy to deploy and stores easily after watching a YouTube video. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the stand. And what could be better? I received my order the next day! I live about 200 miles away but B&H is very prompt.

I've used these backgrounds for the last few months and they work exactly as you would think. I've used the green screen and the white backgrounds and so far so good. The stand is not the strongest, but as long as you are not rough with the knobs, they should last for a decent amount of time. I weight one of the legs with a 5 lb sandbag just in case.

Quick setup/cleanup, large backdrops that pack well. Sturdy construction. Good to have for small spaces - be sure to have a counterweight for the boom.

I used to drag out my 10x20 background with elaborate lighting setup just to do headshots. Now I can have a lil set up and accomplish the saame thing alot easier. Plus it lets me switch from white to black by just flippiing the background over!

The pop up background is great. The stand has trouble holding the weight of the screen. You will need a sand bag or something to help balance it. The white side also has a black fabric around the frame which can be problematic if you need a solid white one for product shoots etc.

The backdrop is better quality fabric than I expected and plenty large enough for product photos. can imagine this would also work for portraits. The stand could also serve many different uses not just for a background stand.

setup stand and boom arm to desired position set and slide the two pinch-clamps into position for either a horizontal or vertical backdrop installation set and forget. Would suggest a sandbag if being used outdoors.

Yes. The stand is height adjustable. I use mine more horizontal than vertical. I do recommend sandbags for the stand though. Tips too easily.
