SmallRig 2790 Overview

Firmly secure your power bank on your camera or camera cage using this lightweight Universal Power Bank Holder from SmallRig. Constructed of stainless steel and aluminum, this holder features a sliding clamp that adjusts from 2.1 to 3.2" in width to fit a variety of power banks and a soft rubber interior that prevents scratches.

Designed for use with cameras or accessories that can be powered using a battery power bank, the compact holder mounts on your camera using the two included 1/4"-20 screws. An Allen wrench is included to secure the screws.

Power banks with width range from 2.1 to 3.2". Also compatible with but not limited to:

I got this to attach a 20,000mah power bank to the cage on my Lumix S5ii for long form recording. It feels very solid and holds the battery securely without being too big or bulky.

Is the slide spring loaded? Does the thumb knob lock the position and what's the function of that screw on the opposite side ?

The SmallRig Universal Power Bank Holder is not spring loaded. The small silver dial (Finger Screw) allows you to tighten the holder and clamp to the size of your Power bank, or other equipment like an SSD Drive. Also the Holder includes two 1/4"-20 Screws to attach to a cage/rig or other mounting point.

Is there a way to mount this to a hot shoe? Want to ultimately use this to mount the SanDisk Pro 2TB PRO-G40 SSD Thunderbolt

Though it could be possible to mount the SmallRig Universal Power Bank Holder to a cold shoe ball head or an articulating arm with a 1/4"-20 on one end and a cold shoe mount on the other, we would not advise doing so, as it may not be completely secure. Instead use the SmallRig Universal Power Bank Holder as intended and mount it to a cage or cheese plate with dual 1/4"-20 receivers instead.

can this mount into the underside of a camera like the om-1 where you would normally attach a tripod plate?

In mounting the SmallRig Universal Power Bank Holder to the bottom of a camera, it can be done using the mounting points on the underside of the holder or the back where screws are illustrated on the image.

If the converter is 2.1 to 3.2" Wide yes, the SmallRig Universal Power Bank Holder could work. Black Magic Micro converters are - Dimensions 3.01 x 1.8 x 0.98"

The SmallRig Universal Power Bank Holder will hold devices ranging from 2.1 to 3.2" and the specifications of the Samsung T5 SSD are 3.0 x 2.3 x 0.4". The unit is designed specifically for power banks and we recommend using it as intended, but the T5 SSD does fall within the dimension parameters supported.
