How is the 48" measured? Is it the length of the whole thing (including the mounting peg), or just the flaggable area?

The TRP WORLDWIDE Solid Floppy Flag (24 x 48") (B&H# TR2448F) is a stainless steel frame with a specialized black cover whose cloth is about 24 x 48" (61 x 122cm) when fitted to that frame, but that may be "flopped" (i.e., unfolded and hanged) from the frame to extend to about 48" (122cm) square. The given approximate measurements refer to that cloth.
